Dr. Durham Barnes, MD

Dr. Barnes completed his M.D. at Tulane University, in 1967. He continued with an internship in mixed surgery at Charity Hospital of Louisiana in New Orleans and two ophthalmology residencies, one at the Victor C. Smith Memorial Eye Clinic in New Orleans (1971-1972) and the other at the University of Virginia Hospital (1972-1974). He then completed a retina service fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston (1974-1975) and a second in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Utah College of Medicine (1977). Dr. Barnes is a board certified ophthalmologist.

John C. Olson, MD

Dr. Olson completed his MD at the Northwestern University in 1977. He served a rotating internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas (1977-1978), followed by an ophthalmology residency from 1978-1981. Dr. Olson attended Bascom Palmer Eye Institute as a retinal fellow from 1981-1982 and was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1982.

Preston P. Richmond, MD

Dr. Richmond earned his MD at Wright State University, 1982, his O.D., Doctor of Optometry, Ohio State University, 1973, and his M.S. Physiological Optics, Ohio State University, 1973. Dr. Richmond's internship was in internal medicine at Kettering Medical center in Kettering, Ohio (1983). He went on to an ophthalmology residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami (1986) and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago (1987) and a diplomat with the National Board of Medical Examiners (1982).

Suzanne M. Demming, MD

Dr. Demming completed her M.D. at University of Miami, 1986. Dr. Demming's internship in internal medicine was at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach (1987), followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital in New Orleans (1990) and a fellowship in retina and vetreous, also at Alton Ochsner (1991). Dr. Demming is a board-certified ophthalmologist (1991).

Saad Shaikh, MD

Dr. Shaikh earned his M.D. at the University of California, Davis, 1997. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine, in 1998 followed by his residency in ophthalmology in 2001, at Stanford Medical Center, Stanford California. His retina fellowship was completed in 2003 from Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Shaikh is a board-certified ophthalmologist (2002).
